This role is centred on accurate stock control across the warehouse and units, ensuring materials are tracked, ordered, stored and issued correctly to support production, sample requests and customer orders. Alongside stock control, the trainee will develop broader warehouse operations skills, with a structured path toward warehouse management responsibility.

key responsibilities:

stock control

  • Carry out regular stock takes and reconcile physical stock against records
  • Perform stock checks and visual inspections to identify shortages, damage or discrepancies
  • Manage material relocation and storage to keep stock organised and traceable
  • Decant and process container deliveries, recording stock received
  • Palletise materials correctly for onward deliveries and storage
  • After training: support purchasing, price control, supplier quotes and associated recording

warehouse operations

  • Make up and package customer orders
  • Cut samples for customer requests
  • Carry out warehouse checks and maintain a clean, presentable warehouse, units and canteen
  • Handle staff requests, including PPE distribution and recording
  • Support collections and deliveries when required
  • After training: PAT test equipment; carry out face fitting; complete basic repairs to plant and cables; vehicle checks and basic repairs; forklift driving and forklift inspections

training & development

Training will be provided across all “after training” duties listed above, including forklift operation, PAT testing, face fitting, and vehicle/plant maintenance.  As competence in stock control and warehouse operations builds, the trainee will take on increasing responsibility, with progression toward a Warehouse Manager role.

person specification

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with numbers and stock records
  • Well organised, with the ability to prioritise stock control tasks alongside operational duties
  • Comfortable with physical warehouse work, including manual handling and material movement
  • Willingness to train and work toward a forklift licence and other certifications
  • Basic IT literacy for stock recording and purchasing systems
  • Good communication skills for liaising with staff, suppliers and customers
  • Full UK driving licence, held for a minimum of 6 months

about the role

As part of our on-site installation teams, you’ll start by learning the fundamentals – preparing our specialist acoustic products and assembling spray equipment. Once trained, you’ll move into the Edger role, where you’ll focus on the precision finishing of our acoustic spray finishes.

For the right candidate, there’s a clear path to becoming a Sprayer and Supervisor within 1–2 years.

No prior experience in acoustics required – just a great work ethic and willingness to learn.
