Oscar Acoustics win Sustainability Star at Medway Business Awards
we are very proud to have been announced as Sustainability Star of the Year at the 2024 Medway Business Awards
Sustainability is at the core of all our operations here at Oscar Acoustics. Our SonaSpray acoustic spray range is made from rapidly renewable resources that sequester carbon and reduce the amount of harmful greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. SonaSpray is designed to satisfy many sustainable design certification systems including BREAAM, SKA, Living Building Challenge and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). LEED is a global certification programme for sustainable building design, construction and operations, with a focus on occupant wellbeing. SonaSpray’s environmental accreditations also enable us to achieve maximum BREEAM points for our section of works on a project.
Project example: SonaSpray was used throughout JP Morgan’s in Glasgow, a 15-storey, 44,000m2 office building. This was one of the first constructed under Planning Policy CDP 5 of the Glasgow City Development Plan, which sets energy efficiency and CO2 emission performance standards. The building also targets BREEAM ‘Excellent’. SonaSpray enabled the project to achieve full BREEAM points for Oscar’s section of the works.
The Medway Business Awards are the most prestigious awards ceremony in Kent, celebrating the achievements of both large and small businesses based in Medway. We’re extremely proud to be recognised at this level for all of our sustainability efforts and continue to actively reduce our carbon emissions year on year working with Positive Planet.
