SonaSpray K-13 can be tailored to meet your specific project acoustic needs. There is a choice of finish and you can select texture, colour and acoustic performance. SonaSpray K-13 can be applied at variable thickness and variable areas to provide a designed acoustic ambience. It is spray applied to the full thickness in one application.
For the ultimate acoustic combination in sports halls, use SonaSpray K-13 on standard plain non-perforated deck with the new Oscar Evo-Panel at low level. The Oscar Evo-Panel is the first acoustic panel designed specifically for use at low level in high impact areas. Positioning these at low level prevent sound flutter off lower walls meaning you require 35% less Evo-Panels than standard acoustic panels at high level. Sport England compliant.
“Changing spec from standard acoustic panels at high level and replacing perforated metal deck in our sports hall with plain galvinised metal deck treated with SonaSpray K-13 has saved us a fortune & time in the programme. Everyone has commented on how quiet the sports hall is now”.

Test DATA certified by TNO Technical University Delft NL. Tests were on a solid backing. A panel backing with air space behind the panel will change absorption; normally there is improved absorption at low frequency. Substrates likely to provide increased performance include plasterboard with the use of an air gap behind, rib deck or profiled metal sheet. SonaSpray insulates by creating dead air spaces macroscopically between and within the hollow cellulose fibres. Testing on actual buildings demonstrates that sprayed insulation outperforms fibreglass batts that are mechanically retained. 100mm thick U = 0.32 W/m2K.
For areas such as indoor pools and ice arenas, SonaSpray K-13 aids in condensation control. The proper combination of SonaSpray K-13 and ventilation prevents condensation on metal, concrete and other surfaces. SonaSpray K-13 reduces ventilation requirements, saving in both the ventilation equipment investment operating costs.
- Dry Weight of SonaSpray K-13 per 10mm thickness = 0.72 kg/m2
- Wet Weight of SonaSpray K-13 per 10mm thickness = 1.37 kg/m2
- Dry Weight of SonaSpray K-13 per 20mm thickness = 1.44 kg/m2
- Wet Weight of SonaSpray K-13 per 20mm thickness = 2.74 kg/m2
SonaSpray K-13 noise reduction insulation can be applied to virtually any substrate; some surfaces may need priming to control suction. Old surfaces may need a barrier coating to prevent staining from leaching out contaminants whilst the surface is wet.
Standard Colours: (s) = Stock (ns) = Non-Stock

Bespoke colours are manufactured to order. Minimum order quantities apply and square meterage is dependent on the product and thickness of spray. Please send us your colour requirement using a Dulux paint reference and we will respond with quantity, price and colour samples.
The adhesive used with SonaSpray K-13 noise reduction insulation provides a strong, durable and resilient bond. When fully cured, surface strength of old plaster will typically improve. Fully cured SonaSpray K-13 can improve strength.
Recessed services e.g. spot lighting will require a halo spacer to match the material depth. Oscar Acoustics manufacture and install stainless steel halo spacers (drawing available) to the same size as the hole cut out. Stop beads may be required around openings which again we can supply and install. Specially designed access hatches are also available through Profab, enabling the SonaSpray to continue across the hatch door. Problems can arrise from using other hatches. These items are at extra cost and are to be purchsed direct from the Profab. Please contact Oscar Acoustics for details and item code. Surface mounted fittings e.g. hanging/pendant lights will require pattresses to match the material depth. Please contact Oscar Acoustics for further advice.
Please Note: 90% of flangeless fittings do not work properly with any acoustic finish. If you are specifying a flangeless fitting, please contact Oscar Acoustics for advice.
SonaSpray K-13 noise reduction insulation can be quickly and effectively applied to any prepared surface and construction configuration. This allows minimum working down time in existing structures with abilities to meet critical deadlines in new construction. SonaSpray K-13 has a coarse surface texture and is suited to large buildings with longer viewing distances; or use close up where a strong texture is required. Other SonaSpray products offer a finer surface texture. SonaSpray K-13 is also ideal in some cases for rain noise reduction within the building.
Please note that it is important not to use moisture resistant plasterboard as this can cause staining of wet applied products. Oil based stain barrier paints can be used to prevent this. Please consult Oscar Acoustics for more information.
A minimum of 12.5mm thick plasterboard, installed to British Gypsum specification should be used.
