SonaSpray treats Tate Modern acoustics
SonaSpray K-13 achieves optimal acoustics in Tate Modern Museum
Tate modern acoustics
SonaSpray K-13 in black was chosen for optimal reverberation control in the Tate Modern’s spectacular South Oill Tank Gallery.
This space is dedicated to showing the rich variety of art in live form for the public including film, performance, sound and discussions so it was vital that this particular space was treated acoustically for it be a success.
SonaSpray K-13 was specified at 76mm for its deliberately industrial, coarsely textured spray applied acoustic finish that absorbs sound, instead of reflecting it. SonaSpray in black also provides ideal conditions for lighting control in museum exhibitions and in a darkened space the height of the ceiling appears infinite.
Our Oscar Elite & Sonaspray architectural acoustic finishes achieve M1 certification for Building Materials Emissions and significantly better the new fire requirement required under the updated Approved Document B.
