Oscar Acoustics achieve ISO 14001
Oscar Acoustics sets sustainability standard with ISO 14001 accreditation
Oscar Acoustics, Britain’s leading provider of architectural acoustic finishes, announces it has achieved ISO 14001 certification. This milestone represents the final piece in the brands environmental jigsaw, helping them to reach a wider market and stand out from competitors as Great Britain’s most sustainable acoustic solutions provider.
ISO 14001 is a standard under which independent auditors test the effectiveness of an organisation’s environmental management systems. Attaining the accreditation means the company has proven it follows and complies with recognised international standards and operates in an environmentally sustainable manner.
The assessment process is rigorous and encompasses every aspect of the business. In order to be compliant with the criteria to achieve the standard, Oscar Acoustics has defined and set environmental objectives and assigned roles, responsibilities and authorities throughout the company to help achieve them. By implementing a quality management system they can identify, control and record the organisation’s environmental aspects and related impacts.
“Being ISO 14001 certified is testament to the considerable human and financial investment we have made to become one of the most sustainable building product manufacturers and service providers in the UK. The industry, which has not had the best track record when it comes to green practices urgently needs to de-carbonise and reduce waste at all levels. We want to blaze the trail and set an example that you can run a successful and profitable business whilst not negatively impacting the environment. This certification is another step along the way and we hope others in the industry take note and follow suit.”
Ben Hancock, Managing Director – Oscar Acoustics
